MUSIC
HUSSY HICKS
Straddling the line between Folk, Blues, Country, Rock and Roots, Hussy Hicks have earned themselves a mighty reputation, growing, from festival openers to festival favourites, seeing the group now appear at the biggest blues and roots festivals in Australia, The USA and across Europe while selling out their own tours across the three continents.
The band led by the duo of Leesa Gentz’ (vocals), Julz Parker (guitar) have spent the last fourteen years touring and forging their place as one the most treasured and celebrated working musical duos, whilst also being equally comfortable performing as a trio or in full band format, having taken home the Gold Coast Artist of the Year and Album of the Year honours. The band have released seven studio albums and played 1000’s of gigs, festivals, carving out a global reputation for their emotive lyricism, energetic live shows and fiery, frenetic instrumentation.

A not to be missed act that are ready for the world” – Peter Noble, Bluesfest Director
“These girls epitomise everything I admire about great music – instinct, passion, courage, creativity and a distinct refusal to compromise theirvision” – Kim Cheshire, Country Update Magazine”
Watching Julz Parker play her custom-made acoustic dreadnought is nothing short of breath-taking; a stark reminder of the huge gapbetween simply ‘playing guitar’ and the ability to make an instrument the extension of your musical imagination.”- Sabian Wilde, X Press Magazine
“Probably the best band you’ve never heard of” – Planet London
BLUES ARCADIA
Three-time Australian Blues Music Award winners and Australian Roots Music Award nominees Blues Arcadia combine the legendary soul of Stax and Motown with the heat and power of the Chicago and Memphis blues to create a unique dirty-soul sound delivered with swagger, style, and sensitivity.
The band made a huge impact with their debut album Carnival Of Fools (2019) with 4.5 stars from The Australian Weekend Review, 5 stars from the Sunday Mail, a #5 debut on the AIR Independent Charts and a #1 debut on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts, and have since brought their energetic and authentic live show across the country to festivals and venues everywhere from far North QLD to Adelaide.
Now the dynamic Brisbane five-piece have taken things to a whole new level, recently unleashing their killer second album Now Or Never with fresh forays into funk and jazz, while never straying too far from their grounding in the blues. Keys player Paula Girvan brings the jazz, while the longstanding rhythm section of bassist Jeremy Klysz and drummer Casper Hall brings the funk. Guitarist Chris Harvey fuses the fluency of Stevie Ray Vaughan with the more traditional blues stylings of the “Three Kings” (Albert, Freddie and B.B.), yet his playing sounds thrillingly contemporary. Frontman Alan Boyle sings it like he lives it, wrenching every last drop of sweat, passion and emotion from lyrics that speak to direct experience.
Blues Arcadia are five strong individual personalities working together to create something uniquely exciting. It’s almost impossible to choose which of them to watch and engage with during a show, where each player directs their energy into the most important thing – the Song, making it the best it can be. That is the power of Blues Arcadia.
“The future of blues is secure” – Blues Blast Magazine (US)
“A well-oiled soul-machine” – Blues Magazine (Netherlands)
“Impressively accomplished… Blues Arcadia exudes all-round excellence” – Tony Hillier, Weekend Australian Review
“This is what a 21st century blues band should sound like – a howling celebration of what it is to make music now”
– Mark Doherty, Nothin’ But The Blues, 4ZZZ 102.1FM
MARSHALL AND THE FRO
All over Australia the name ‘Marshall and the Fro’ has become synonymous with good feelings, late nights, and frothing festival tents. Favouring stomp over swamp, country over western, and rhythm over blues, Marshall and The Fro is a winning combination of birth-right talent, seasoned musicianship and the result of good old fashioned hard work.
Musically the band is painted in the earthy licks and bottle-neck slide of universal influences Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, add to this Bon Scott’s hard-working sense of charisma, Angus Young’s stage enthusiasm and the steam-train backing of an incredibly well-oiled rhythm section and you should get the general idea of what to expect of Marshall & the Fro.
Marshall and the Fro have graced the stages of festivals including Byron Bluesfest, Woodford, The Quiksilver Pro, Blues on Broadbeach, Falls Festival and many more.
Having become established as the quintessential sound of the Aussie surfing mojo blues, the band has enjoyed an illustrious period of touring and airplay, featuring on international surf film scores, receiving multiple awards and collecting a loyal fan base along the way.
“Infectious as Hell” – Sam Fell, RHYTHMS MAGAZINE

On its release, Lost in Living stormed up the Australian Blues Charts, spending weeks at number 3 and once again, showcasing his powerful vocals and mastery of the guitar. Darren Jack is no stranger to success, his album Better Place swept up five awards at the 2012 Australian Blues Music Awards, including Best Album of the Year. Both albums are testament to his relentless hard work and growing maturity as a songwriter.
MINNIE MARKS
Minnie Marks is not just some blazingly electrified guitar playing freak of nature. She is also a rare and triple threat: Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
Relentlessly gigging across the globe, equipped with an old Goldtop in her hands and a revolutionary Farmer Foot Drum at her feet; Marks consistently pushes musical limits with her mind-blowing, dynamic guitar wizardry and her insanely powerful voice, that roars out her truth through song as if her own life depended on it. And, if that’s not enough, simultaneously, creates bone marrow shaking grooves with spare limbs on her Foot Drum kit. Finally all three beasts are married together to forge a mammoth sized wall of sound.
From winning the world renowned ‘Bluesfest Busking Competition’ in 2011, to taking out the People’s Choice Award’ at both Blues At Bridgetown and Nannup Music Festival, plus earning the winning place of ‘Best Guitarist’ for the Open Arms Festival competition, Marks is no stranger on the block.
Here’s what a few master musicians have to say….
“BADASS” – Jennifer Batten (Guitarist for Michael Jackson and Jeff Beck)
“Minnie Marks is a one-woman band with so much talent and soul, we sat there mesmerised by her singing and playing and couldn’t wait to meet her. It was one of the most amazing shows of our lives!”– Carl Verheyen (Supertramp)
“Minnie brings undeniable musical virtuosity, a huge personality and an inspiring energy and confidence in every performance” – Joe Robinson
“Minnie Marks, she plays guitar like nothing I’ve ever seen before, she sings like Janis Joplin, she’s going to blow the world apart.” – Kim Churchill
“I’m shakin’ in my boots. One word, PRODIGY!” – Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus)
BOBIN MAINTENANCE CREW
Bobin Maintenance Crew is a fusion of rock, alt pop, bit of soul and even country vibes , derived from their shed at Bobin. Their music is influenced by each members unique taste of indie, punk, rock and electronic music reverberating around the tin and wood shack they were created in. Their lyrics are heavily influenced by the 2019 bushfires that ravaged the east of Australia and highlight our love of nature and fears of environmental degradation.
THREE GOODFELLAS
Matty Zarb (vocals, guitars, mandolin, harmonica) has played, written and performed music almost his entire life, and has travelled Australia and the world making people smile with his original songs. Drawing from personal experiences, each song has a story attached and Matt brings these experiences to life by painting pictures in your mind with words accompanied by his beautiful playing.
Mick Eyb (drums, vocals) has performed in various local bands and ensembles for nearly forty years, and has known Matty for about a decade. When they first saw each other perform at the Taree Envirofair in 2012, they connected over a shared love of playing and a mutual respect for each other’s talent. They vowed to form a band one day, and although they ended up working and playing together for the Australian Childen’s Music Foundation in 2013, they didn’t get a real band going until 2018.
Scott Greenaway has been the go-to bassist for The Australian Country Music industry for nearly 20 years now, and continues to perform with many of Australia’s best musicians on recordings and live. About five years ago Scott decided it was time to return home to the Manning Valley and quickly reconnected with his old musical comrade Mick, who invited him to join him to play with this other bloke named Matt. Although they had never met each other before, it became very clear that Scott and Matt knew all the same characters within the Australian Country scene. A strong bond was quickly formed between Scott and Matt, and the Three Goodfellas was born!
The guys share a friendship based on a love of performing beautiful music and a deep respect for each other’s talents, something that is plain to see in their live performances, song choices and on-stage interactions. Three Good Fellas’ aim is to make you smile and in the process you’ll see plenty of theirs as well.
